In his latest visit to Srilanka, Nawaz Shairf and his team were able to close a deal with Srilankan Air Force (SAF) for the sale of indigenous JF-17 Thunder fighter planes. This is the second deal of Pakistan abroad, the 1st one being Myanmar (according to undisclosed sources). The deal was closed in the face of immense Indian pressure of not to go through with it. India’s word for Srilanka was to go through with this deal with any nation other then Pakistan.

But this is just a beginning of what is around the corner, in order to successfully complete the deal, Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC), the main vendor of the deal will have to see a lot of arrangements of maintenance of the plane once its delivered to the customer and if the customer is even ready and has an infrastructure in place to take care of the machine i.e. JF-17.
